Michael Carey Appointed as President of the American Society for AI

The American Society for AI (ASFAI), the leading nonprofit organization for artificial intelligence, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Carey as its new President, succeeding Rei Llazani, who transitions to the role of Chairman of the Board.
Michael Carey is a patent attorney and partner at F. Chau & Associates, where he focuses on protecting AI inventions. Mike is a former U.S. Air Force Major who flew C-130s in multiple combat deployments and served as a Judge Advocate. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of ASFAI since its inception.
"AI will transform civilization," said Carey. "Our focus on building an AI constitution will serve a critical role in ensuring that the impact of AI will benefit humanity. There is no greater task faced by our generation."
